Barrington Tops National Park

The rainforest in Barrington Tops National Park is a part of the Gondwana Rainforests, which is a World Heritage Area with the most extensive strip of diverse rainforest anywhere on earth. Within the park you will be able to find a wide range of different walking tracks and lookouts, each highlighting a different natural wonder of Barrington Tops.

The national park is open at all times, however, due to weather, safety and occasionally maintenance, some trails may be closed, so be sure to check the national parks website for more information!

Barrington Tops National Park is about a 40-minute drive from Barrington Riverside Cottages.

Barrington Bike Park

Barrington Bike Park is the perfect way to show off your riding skills while admiring the beautiful landscapes of Barrington. They have a variety of trails available for those of all skill levels, including a few beginner tracks that you can try as long as you can ride a bike! Visit their website for more information on their tracks, tickets and hiring equipment.

They are open every Saturday and Sunday as well as every day of the holidays, except for Christmas and New Years Day, and if you would like to book for a weekday, make sure to contact them to see if they are open.

Barrington Bike Park is about a 20-minute drive away from Barrington Riverside Cottages.

Burgess Beach Forster

For those who don’t mind a longer drive, Burgess Beach in Forster is a beautiful place to go with family, for a relaxing day. Burgess Beach is home to some of the region’s most beautiful rock pools where you can find many marine creatures as you rewind in the refreshing water. It is also ideal for children as the shallow pools are protected from incoming swells.

The drive from Barrington Riverside Cottages to Burgess Beach is about 1 hour and 10 minutes long, making it the perfect day trip!

Aussie Ark

Aussie Ark is an organisation originally created to save the income Tasmanian devil from extinction and has now expanded with a vision of creating a long-term future for other threatened Australian species such as quolls and koalas. It is located above the heritage listed Barrington Tops and offers tours where you can visit the Tassie Devils in their free-range sanctuary and interact with the baby devils.
